Sales Trainer, Coach & Consultant and Leadership Coach

Q, Please provide a brief career history.

Self employed trainer/consultant since 2000 specialising in enabling individuals and organisations to sell. Initial consulting work led to more training/coaching which led me to want to learn more about people development and coaching. Graduate engineer, before 2000 was employed in industrial/scientific blue chip and SME companies in a range of sales, sales managing, account managing and Marketing roles.

Q, Had you coached before attending the HumanTechnics programme?

Yes, coaching 1-1 with directors, managers and staff in SMEs and using team coaching approach to my training and consultancy.

Q, Had you attended any coach training prior to the HumanTechnics programme?

Yes, the CIPD advanced coaching course.

Q, What were your motivations behind looking for a Coach Training programme?

For the HumanTechnics Course I was specifically looking for tools to use in team facilitating scenarios to add to/help me adapt my 1-1 coaching tools/approaches to groups.

Q, What criteria were important to you when looking for a Coach training programme?

The trainer, the NLP approach, that it didn’t repeat what the CIPD course had done, that it was well located and affordable.

Q, What was it that led you to choose the HumanTechnics programme in the end?

Knowing Sarah and a chat with her telling me the course would meet my ‘team/facilitating’ objectives. Plus a referral from another consultant who Sarah had trained. Accreditation was a bonus.

Q, Could you briefly describe your experience of the course.

I learned lots that has changed my behaviour, thinking and coaching since then. I haven’t had to work at or remember to apply new learning – it is engrained in my thinking. To begin with it felt slow, I needed more structure, wanted to cover all that was in our folders and began to realise we were not going to – then began to realise the depth of the learning and how much my mind set was shifting and my tool kit and confidence to apply and adapt growing. Fantastic!

Q, Reflecting on the programme what would you say you got from the programme? What has it meant for you?

Far more trust and confidence in my ability to coach, train and consult well, as well as loads of new approaches/tools/awarenesses that improve my coaching/training and the results my coachees/trainees get. Rarely judgemental of others now where I could be before. Able to see where others may be coming from which is a wholly more positive starting point for any coaching!

Q, would you recommend the course to someone like yourself?

Yes!
