Executive/Leadership Coach ICF, AC and EMCC Professional Coaching Bodies
Coaching as a stand-alone profession is relatively new. Part of the progress of ‘professionalising’ coaching has been the results of work done by coaching organisations such as the ICF (International Coach Federation), The AC (Association for Coaching), and the EMCC (European Mentoring & Coaching Council). Much of their work has focused on defining the skills and competencies coaches should have, providing structure for ethics and contracting, and providing a central point for the development of best practice.
HumanTechnics supports the objectives of these organisations. Our training is competency and practitioner focused and highly aligned to the best practice in training identified by all three organisations. We’ve been highly involved in the running of conferences, round-table and other events in partnership with these organisations, particularly with the ICF over the years.
We’ve supported a significant number of our coach training graduates through attaining ICF credentials – providing the training required to support their portfolio applications. Similarly the Association for Coaching has a personal accreditation scheme which requires candidates to have completed professional training.
Because of the overlap of focus of these organisations in the UK they collaborate closely with many individuals being active in several organisations.
They continue to play an important role in moving forward coaching and coaching best practice and we’d recommend getting involved.
